Canadian design collective COFO, short for “Cofounders”, launched in 2017 by Desmond Chan and Randy Simmen as a platform for undiscovered designers to get their work out there. Along with bringing their designs to market, they also give the designers a percentage of the sales of their piece. They aim to give designers much-deserved, yet hard to get, experience and exposure while taking them through the process from idea to actual product that’s ready to sell. The first design out of the gate is The Roque, a lounge chair by Canadian designer Trish Roque that debuted at this year’s Interior Design Show.

Initially, COFO is turning to design seniors and recent graduates to submit their design in various home furnishings categories. If chosen, COFO fabricates the design (and pays for the fabrication!) and then offers it up for sale in their online store. The Roque chair is just the beginning, with a full furniture collection launching in the fall.

The Roque chair is currently available for presale and features a laser-cut steel frame with an electroplated finish, Italian wool cloth, and your choice of natural Canadian Maple or brushed black with a satin polish finish.
